SUMMARY:COMPETITION IMAGES DUE (APR)
DESCRIPTION:Our next competition will take place on Tuesday\, April 27\, 2021\, at 7:00pm. The judge for the evening will be NAME HERE. \nThe deadline for submitting digital images via DigitalComp@seqcc.org is 12:00 midnight on Friday\, April 23\, 2021. Guidelines for digital image preparation\, mailing labels\, and instructions for mounting prints are all available on the Competition page of the SEQCC website (seqcc.org)\, along with the competition rules. Photographers who are participating in competition for the first time must create an alias (as outlined in the rules) and forward that information to the Committee prior to submitting images. \n\n\nAs noted in previous competitions\,  we are continuing to conduct Black & White and Color print competitions using digital images. It is critical that your print entries be clearly identified. This is accomplished by adding the correct designation — “C” for color prints\, “BW” for black & white prints\, and “D” for digital images –to the name of the image.\nYou may use the following example of a color print entry by a Salon group photographer as a guide:  C35-alias-S1-title of imageC.jpg\nTo further distinguish the specific categories\, the subject line of your e-mail should indicate whether the submission is of a digital\, color print\, or digital print image.\nIn keeping with the recently updated PFLI guidelines\, the maximum dimension on the longer side of all digital images is 900 pixels\, instead of the prior limit of 750.  There is no change to the resolution of 72 pixels/inch.\n\nThe pandemic has presented many challenges\, and it has perhaps been difficult for some of us to create and submit images for competition.  Please remember that our guidelines allow members to submit make-up images for up to 2 competitions\, as delineated in the competition guidelines. Please see the directions below: \n\n\nAllowance for make-up entries may be made due to special circumstances for a missed competition\, but not more than twice per season. The goal of make-ups is to enhance members’ ability to maximize the total number of entries in any category in the course of a given competition season. The maximum number of entries one can enter when doing a make-up will be six (3 regular entries\, plus the 3 make-up entries)\, per category in any one competition. Partial make-ups are not permitted. If a member submits fewer than 3 make-up images in a category in a competition\, he/she will have completed the make-up provision and may not submit additional make-up image for that category. Categories\, however\, can be split; a member has the option\, for example\, to submit digital make-up images in one competition and their print images in a subsequent competition. A member who competes in multiple categories (i.e.\, digital\, color prints\, and black & white prints) need not submit all make-up entries in each category in a single competition; He/she may spread the make-up entries for additional categories across subsequent competitions during the year. The make-up allowance applies only if one misses an entire competition. A member who submits fewer than 3 entries in any category will have satisfied the competition requirement for that category and is not entitled to submit make-up images. NOTE: If a new member joins after the first competition and before the 3rd competition (month of 3rd competition) the maker has the option of making up one of the competitions(s) missed before he/she became a member. \nWe look forward to seeing more of your inspiring images. \nAs always\, you may contact members of the Competition Committee if you have any questions or concerns. \nThanks! \nSEQCC Competition Committee \nJames Fonsville\, Co-Chair   fonsone@aol.com \nDianne Heggie\, Co-Chair    dheggie@optonline.net \nCorona Johnson                 roneyplus3@gmail.com \nRalph Simmons                  simmons114@aol.com \n\n
