Hi, my name is John W. Doherty Jr.and my title is Chair of the SEQCC Newsletter Committee.

I learned much of what I know about photography from my sisterm Brenda Gates. I remember seeing her develop film and thinking “WOW, that looks crazy! Taking that roll of brownish film and making black and white or Color photos!”
Fast forward to today, as my career as a NYCTA bus operator coming to a close, I felt I needed a hobby. Something I could share with her (I’m also looking for things to share with my other siblings, as well). I’m an almost complete novice to photography, but, I’m learning a lot and having a great time doing so! So here’s to a lifetime of sharing good times with great people and wonderful pictures.
