Promotion Criteria (End of Season)
At the end of each season, members are evaluated separately in each medium. Promotions are awarded as follows:
- Class B → Class A: Minimum of 27 points accumulated in the season.
- Class A → Salon: Minimum of 38 points accumulated in the season.
Note: Once a photographer is promoted, they may not revert to a previous classification.
The “Best of the Best” competition will be held in May. (Meetings begin at 7:00pm).
- Integration of Prints:
- For scoring and competition purposes, Black & White Prints and Color Prints will be judged within their corresponding categories but displayed digitally.
- This ensures uniform scoring, simplifies judging, and gives equal opportunity for recognition.
- Fast-Track Promotion for Experienced Photographers
To recognize professional or advanced skill levels, SEQCC offers a Fast-Track Promotion pathway for new members.
Eligibility:
- Applies to new members who demonstrate substantial prior photographic experience (professional, published, or long-standing competition history).
- Members must first compete in Class B for at least two full competitions.
- Only best two of the five scored categories (including print submissions shown in these categories) are used for Fast-Track scoring.
Maximum Scores:
- 2 categories × 10 points each = 20 points maximum per competition.
- Over 2 competitions = 40 points maximum possible.
Promotion Threshold:
After two competitions, a new member may be promoted directly from Class B to Class A if:
- They accumulate at least 32 points in two categories across 2 competitions (≈ 80% of maximum),
Conditions:
- Scores earned in Class B are retained when the member moves to Class A.
- Members not meeting the threshold continue in Class B until eligible for standard end-of-season promotion review.
