Dear SEQCC Members,

Thank you to everyone who took the time to complete our recent Membership Questionnaire.

The questionnaire was created because the leadership of SEQCC needs to hear directly from our members as we make decisions about programs, competitions, field trips, communication, recruitment, and the future of the Club.

Approximately 80 people were given an opportunity to participate—45 current paid members and 35 former members. Only 13 responded.

Most of those who responded are individuals who already invest a considerable amount of their time serving SEQCC through leadership, committees, and other volunteer responsibilities. I sincerely thank them.

The limited response, however, raises an important point:

How can we know what our members want if members do not take advantage of the opportunities provided to tell us?

Constructive criticism and different opinions are important to a healthy organization. But participation must accompany criticism. It is difficult to say your voice was not heard when an opportunity was provided for your voice to be heard and you chose not to participate.

The 13 responses contain valuable information and will be taken seriously. But they cannot reasonably represent the views of approximately 80 people—they represent the people who chose to participate.

SEQCC belongs to all of us. If you want your voice to help shape the direction of the Club, you have to use it.

The Membership Questionnaire Report is attached for your review. I encourage everyone to take a few minutes to read the results.
